Dual Pixel CMOS AF
The EOS 70D is the first camera to feature Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology, enabling fast and smooth autofocus tracking whilst shooting movies. Each pixel features two photo diodes that can be read independently during autofocus or together to capture the image.

Smart connectivity
The Canon EOS 70D features built-in Wi-Fi. This gives you the freedom to control the camera remotely and share images with others. With Wi-Fi you can connect with the EOS Remote app and change many image settings, including ISO and exposure, and focus and shutter control. You can also use the Live View mode remotely to view your images.

Creative Full HD movies
You can create not only beautiful pictures, but also high-quality video with the Canon EOS 70D. Video with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080p), can be recorded at various speeds, including 30, 25 or 24 fps, and 60 and 50 fps at 720p, and with various compression options. The new Dual Pixel CMOS AF follows the Movie Servo AF mode subjects as they move, so they always are in focus.

19-point cross-type AF system
The Canon EOS 70D has a 19-point cross-type AF system to focus on the whole picture, ideal for capturing fast action quickly and accurately. All 19 points in the EOS 70D AF sensor are cross-type with F5.6 lens, while the centre AF point is a more sensitive diagonal cross-type with F2.8 - for more accurate focus tracking.

Silent Drive Mode
The Canon EOS 70D is equipped with a Silent Drive mode so the shutter and mirror operate to reduce mechanical noise This feature is ideal for situations where you do not want to interfere with the sounds of your camera.
