The Lancom range of Portable Flue Gas Analysers features gas sample probes for varying applications. In applications where a standard probe is not suitable, or there is a special measurement requirement – select one of these alternative probes.

NOTE: Lancom Sample Probes are compatible with both Lancom III and Lancom 4 analysers

Standard Sample Probe – for gas temperatures up to 600 °C / 1112 °F

Standard Probe

The Standard sample probe is suitable for most applications where the gas temperature is below 600°C / 1112°F. An adjustable collar is provided with the probe to prevent air ingress at the measurement point – thus preventing inaccurate readings, and to control the insertion distance into the gas stream. The probe is easily assembled and disassembled to fit inside the optional carry case.

The Standard Probe is available with a range of length options (0.3, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 3.0m) and a choice of flexible hose length options (3m and 10m). The probe includes an integral flue gas thermocouple and a sliding cone to seal the hole in the duct.

High Temperature Probe

The High Temperature Gas Sample Probe is suitable for most applications where the gas temperature is up to 1400°C / 2552°F. A fixed sealing collar is provided with the probe to prevent air ingress at the measurement point – thus preventing inaccurate readings. An adjustable support handle and multiple heat shields ensure the probe can be used safely in high temperature applications. The probe tube is easily removed and replaced.

The High Temperature Probe is available with a range of length options (0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0m) and is supplied with a 3.0m flexible hose.

Flow Probe

The Flow Probe is suitable for most applications where the gas temperature is below 600°C / 1112°F. An adjustable collar and handle is provided with the probe to prevent air ingress at the measurement point – thus preventing inaccurate readings, and to control the insertion distance into the gas stream. Flow measurement is made by the Pitot tube design at the tip of the probe. The probe is also suitable for measuring gas concentrations.

The flow probe is available with a range of length options (0.7m, 1.2m, 2.2m and 3.0m) and a choice of flexible hose length options (3m and 10m). The probe includes an integral flue gasthermocouple and a sliding cone to seal the hole in the duct.

Smoke Probe

The Smoke Probe provides smoke density measurements, by passing the sample gas over a filter paper for a fixed time period. The colour change of the filter paper is compared against a Bacharach smoke scale (0–9) to give a result. The filter paper is easily fitted inside the probe handle. An adjustable collar is provided with the probe to prevent air ingress at the measurement point – thus preventing inaccurate readings, and to control the insertion distance into the gas stream.

The smoke probe is available with a range of length options (0.3m, 0.75m and 1.0m) with a 3m flexible hose. The probe is also supplied with filter papers, a Bacharach Smoke scale chart and an in-line flow meter. The probe has an integral flue gas thermocouple and a lockable sliding cone to seal the duct at the measurement point.

DrySampler™ Probe

The DrySampler™ probe is designed to remove moisture from a gas sample. It operates by having an impinger type sample cooler attached directly to the probe handle. This impinger has an integral coolant reservoir. The coolant reservoir surrounds the impinger such that the hot gas sample is rapidly cooled below the water dewpoint, therefore separating the moisture from the gas sample.

The DrySampler™ uses a revolutionary design (US Patent No. 6782767, EU Patent No. 1236988), featuring a probe with an integrated sample drying system, which excludes the requirement for expensive, heavy, inconvenient and unreliable separate sample conditioners, heated sample lines and probes.

The unique DrySampler™ probe does not require electrical power and is fully self-contained – making it truly portable, low cost and more importantly very easy to use. The probe plugs straight into any Lancom portable analyser.

The DrySampler™ is especially successful when monitoring soluble gases such as SO2 and NO2. The probe has been independently performance tested (Ref. National Physical Laboratory Report QE21/02/1042), proving the design and operation produce very accurate and repeatable measurement results.

The DrySampler™ probe is available with a range of length options (0.3m, 1.0m, 1.5m, 2.0m and 3.0m) which are interchangeable on the probe handle. The probe handle has a choice of either a 3m or 10m flexible hose. All the probe tubes include an integral flue gas thermocouple and a replaceable particulate filter. Attached to the probe is a lockable sliding cone which is used to seal the hole in the duct.
