Water cooled WM series
	The three phase motors WM series , closed , water cooled , manufactured according to the main international standards and particularly to the IEC 34 and 72 rules, are available in the same sizes, pole numbers and output power of MA and M series , since they make use of the same active components. The steel fabricated outer frame is so manufactured to create an outer cooling circuit.

WHY A WATER-COOLED MOTOR?
● High available axis output power with very small motor.
Approximately 30% extra power with respect to a traditional
asynchronous motor. 
● Silent operation in all ranges. The motor noise is reduced to only
a few decibels since ventilation is not required. 
● No heat output into the operating environment by the motor (air
conditioned rooms).
● Operation in “high” temperature environment without the neces-
sity for derating.
● Increased motor yield. One to two extra percentage points can
be achieved with respect to a traditional asynchronous motor
since ventilation is not required. The four pole WM… motors
belong to category eff2 in accordance with the classification by
CEMEP and the EUROPEAN COMMITTEE. 
● Constant torque operation at very low frequencies without the
need for assisted ventilation when powered by a frequency con-
verter.
● Since no cooling air flux is present, motors can be installed in
dusty and flocky environments.
APPLICATIONS:
The WM… motors can be used in machines for plas-
tic materials, controlling extruders and controlling
marble cutting machines, as well as in the steelworks,
paper making industry and mine works to satisfy the
requirements described above.
