1. DRIVE SYSTEM

By integrating the specific demands of processes, environments, machine functions and types of industry, LEROY-SOMER offers innovative high energy efficiency drive solutions, designed to work and communicate with one another

Energy savings
Since electric motors account for nearly 70% of the electricity used by industry, motorised applications constitute an important source of potential savings.

With the benefit of its experience in improving the efficiency of electric motors, geared motors and variable speed, Leroy-Somer has costed the potential energy savings.

The result is striking: improving the efficiency of fixed-speed motors can achieve 10% of the overall energy-saving potential whereas with variable speed, more than 30% of the total potential can be achieved!!! The remaining 60% potential savings are rarely considered.

Permanent magnet synchronous motor
IP55 construction in accordance with IEC, very high-efficiency magnet synchronous motors cover a power range from 0.75 to 400 kW over a speed range of up to 5500 min^-1

Induction motors
Over a speed range from 0.09 kW to 900 kW, the range of IP65/IP55 enclosed or IP23 protected induction motors satisfy the demands of industrial processes for standard or special environments.

D.C. motors
From 0.18 to 750 kW, D.C. motors, whether drip-proof or enclosed, are used in applications requiring variable speed operation and deliver constant torque at low or high speed.

Brake induction motors
From 0.06 to 160 kW, brake motors are used for intermittent duty, emergency stops or for holding a device under load. They are designed to operate in normal or special environments.

Electromechanical products - Geared motors
From 30 to 20,000 Nm, the range of geared motor technologies satisfies the demands of industrial processes for standard or special environments.

Variable speed control
From 0.25 to 2800 kW, solutions ranging from the simple motor control to the complete process management

ATEX
Whether motors, geared motors, pumps, for fixed or variable speed operation, the ATEX certified product ranges are designed to work together.

Gearless motors
Gearless motors for lifts cover load requirements up to 5000 kg and speeds up to 5 m/s.
