Dòng máy tính bảng (tablet) Toughbook của Panasonic lại chuẩn bị đón chào sự ra đời của một thành viên mới mang tên Toughbook CF-H2.
Toughbook CF-H2 được đánh giá không chỉ có sức bền vật lý tốt, mà còn mang trong mình sức mạnh tương đương với một chiếc máy tính để bàn thực sự nhờ được trang bị bộ vi xử lý Intel Core i5-2557M 1,7 GHz. Sở dĩ mẫu máy tính bảng trên được gọi là có sức bền vật lý vì Toughbook CF-H2 có khả năng chịu va đập mạnh với bộ khung bằng hợp kim magie, được bọc trong một lớp vỏ bằng chất liệu tổng hợp polycarbonate. Không những thế, Toughbook CF-H2 còn có thể hoạt động trong điều kiện thời tiết khắc nghiệt, với nhiệt độ môi trường trong khoảng từ âm 28,8 độ C đến 60 độ C. Về cấu hình, ngoài việc được trang bị vi xử lý Core i5-2557M, Toughbook CF-H2 còn sở hữu màn hình cảm ứng điện trở, đèn nền LED, kích thước 10,1 inch, độ phân giải 1024x768 pixel, hỗ trợ bộ nhớ RAM 8 GB, ở cứng HDD dung lượng 320 GB, ổ SSD dung lượng 128GB SSD, kết nối mạng qua cổng Ethernet, kết nối Wifi, Bluetooth 2.1, mạng 3G hoặc 4G, định vị GPS, camera 2 megapixel, nhận dạng dấu vân tay, pin thời lượng 6,5 giờ hoạt động liên tục. The Panasonic Toughbook CF-H2 Field Tablet, the second generation fully rugged tablet PC designed for field workers, will be available at the end of July, according to Panasonic.
This Windows 7 tablet will have a 10.1-inch resistive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 and Panasonic’s Transflective Plus technology, which the company claims will provide a layer that reflects sunlight and uses it as backlight up to 6,000 nits, all in the name of decreased power consumption. It will have a Wacom digitizer and support active pen input, and can be fitted with a two-megapixel camera.
The tablet will be powered by an Intel Core i5-2557M ULV processor operating at 1.7GHz and will have vPro technology and Intel HD 3000 graphics.
The CF-H2 will be fanless and feature optional screw hole covers that protect the device from dust and particles. It will sport a magnesium alloy chassis that Panasonic claims will be able to withstand drops of six feet.
As for the elements, the device is said to operate from -20 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and will have wireless connectivity including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and optional Gobi mobile broadband, while 4G LTE connectivity will be an additional option in the fall.
With 2GB of RAM, the H2 can be fitted with up to 8GB of RAM and will have a 160GB HDD standard for storage, with an optional 128GB SSD.
Unlike its predecessor, the H2 will have ports for Serial, USB and Ethernet, which can be changed to a second USB port if necessary. Two software additions will include Fast Boot technology, allowing the tablet to start up in 25 seconds, and a BIOS-level keyboard.
Additional options for the H2 will include: GPS, a bar code scanner and RFID reader. Panasonic will also provide optional security features including a fingerprint reader, contactless SmartCard reader and an insertable SmartCard reader.
The tablet will measure 10.8 x 10.6 x 2.3 inches and weigh 3.5 pounds. It will have two hot-swappable batteries, providing up to 6.5 hours of endurance.

The base model of the H2 will come with 4GB of RAM and a 320GB, 7,200-rpm hard drive. The Panasonic Toughbook H2 will be available this month, at an estimated street price of $3,449.
